MRS. SAJNA NISHAD AHMED

Mrs. Sajna Nishad Ahmed joined Global Legal Counsel in September 20017. She was previously Contract Legal Services Director in a different Law Firm.
She joins with a track record of business development in the serious injury market and experience in developing and executing transformational growth and change strategy in the legal services sector.
Mrs. Sajna Nishad Ahmed also has an established reputation for developing and improving customer experience and enhancing employee satisfaction and engagement within firms.
Mrs. Sajna sat on the Executive Team heading up legal services; this included overseeing serious injury, contracts, complex fast track, employment, property and consumer litigation teams.
Mrs. Sajna Nishad Ahmed went on to specialize in catastrophic and industrial accident work for the majority of her fee-earning career, running and supervising neuro trauma and serious orthopaedic/amputee cases of the utmost severity, with her own cases settling for damages reaching AED 5 billion.
During this time she also developed an expertise in chronic pain cases. Heading up the workplace accident team in Dubai, Mrs. Sajna Nishad Ahmed developed an expertise in supporting migrant workers who had sustained catastrophic injuries during the course of their employment.
Mrs. Sajna Nishad Ahmed has also undertaken a mix of clinical negligence, industrial accident, child abuse and broader civil litigation work.
She has undertaken a number of business wide leadership roles alongside her fee earning work to develop new areas of business for her firms. She has hosted and spoken at a number of internal and external seminars and been a guest speaker and panel member for the Insurance Post and Modern Claims.

- Advised Government institutions on drafting major laws and regulations.
- Advised Government and commercial entities on major energy projects, including water and electricity and nuclear energy.
- Advised Government and private entities on major infrastructure projects in public utilities, energy projects, and major civil infrastructure projects.
- Advised major international companies working in the UAE in respect of their relationship with the UAE and Abu Dhabi Governments and government institutions.
- Advised the Abu Dhabi Government and major international institutions on regulatory matters, including the allocation of powers and jurisdictions between government institutions, banking regulations, environmental compliance, regulations on commercial companies, financial regulations, free zones, protection of marine environment, conservation of natural resources, taxation, government restructuring and privatization.
- Advised major UAE institutions and international investors on the incorporation of the majority of the major public and private joint stock companies in the UAE.
- Advised major clients in Abu Dhabi on corporate restructuring projects.
- Advised major UAE and international investors on the incorporation of major investment funds and finance companies.
- Acted for major clients in the UAE on a number of acquisitions and projects outside the UAE, including investment in funds, oil and gas, telecommunications, real estate, and securities.
- Acted for major international banking and investment institutions on a number of major acquisitions in the UAE, Egypt and Libya.
- Acted for major clients in the UAE on family wealth restructuring.
- Advised major Abu Dhabi investment institutions on procurements for substantial industrial projects, including steel, metal fabrication, and medical consumables.
- Appeared before UAE Federal and Emirate courts on major civil and commercial legal proceedings.
